Entourage v.X 10.4.1 meltdown

My Entourage is melting! The problem frequently begins and occurs with
the 6 icons: mail, address book, calendar, notes, tasks, custom views;
suddenly they become nothing more than tiny black dots with a white
background and then the entire software freezes as if it is
disintegrating. I've done a screen capture of this phenomenon to which
I would post it here if I could.

Another freakish issue is that I received a "series" of photo
attachments, all from the same person, only as I opened each email the
first and same photo appeared in all the emails, displaying the first
photo not the attached photo; even though they were ALL entirely
different photos. I figured this out after I manually opened them and
saved them to the hard drive as I was delirious as to why someone would
send me the same photo eight times, all with different jpeg names!
Apparently Entourage could not seem to separate itself from the first
photo attachment, even though they were ALL sent as ONE PHOTO
attachment per email!

Does anyone have any similar experience or a solution?

I'm on OSX 10.4.4 (don't want to go up to 10.4.6 because it is not
yet supported with high end software such as Maya). I'm downloading
the office X1016 update now and just updated stuffit!

This sounds more like system problems than Entourage. Try to find the source
of the problem by following the steps in Troubleshooting Basics.

I'm not sure why each message was showing the same picture. If all the
pictures were included as attachments in one message, Entourage would only
be capable of showing the first picture in the message.
