Entourage V.X Licensing Question

Hello,

I understand the EULA allows the Office V.X to be put on multiple machines
in the house. But I read that the application could only be used on one
machine at a time. - that you would get a licensing error etc.

However I read on the Mactopia web site that the resolution for this would
be to install the 10.1.2 update OR buy another copy. Does this mean that
10.1.2 allows multiple machines to run the same application (like
Entourage)?

Here is the corresponding article/faq:

Thanks in Advance - RFord

The EULA allows a single user to install their copy of Office v.X on
*one* desktop and *one* laptop. This is the only configuration (unless
you have purchased a multi-user license). Office knows whether or not
your ccomputer is a laptop or a desktop. This was the change as I
remember. Used to be it didn't allow that at all.

Got Unison? The ultimate newsreader IMO for Mac OS X

But what about running Entourage at the same time on both machines. The faq
seems to suggest that 10.1.2 or later will allow this.

That's what Walt meant. Since 10.1.2 Office can now detect a laptop (via the
battery, as it happens). So if there's one desktop and one laptop with the
same CD code, it should no longer quit on you as it previously did (before
10.1.2) erroneously, since you are within the terms and conditions.

I honestly can't recall if that's exactly right, but I think so, and it does
make good sense. You could phone up MS Sales and Service and ask to get a
definitive answer.
