Anybody got an idea what the problem is? I read one
thread that said a port that spammers and virus hackers
use alot and has been closed down by most ISP servers, is
now the default port specified by OS 10.2.8
I have updated my Linksys firmware for my cable/DSL 4-
port router, but that didn't help. I also replaced the
10.2.8 kernel extension for ethernet with the one from
10.2.6 as suggested by several threads; still no dice.
Is there a way to figure out which port the ISP mail
server uses for outgoing (send) mail? Never thought I'd
say this, but thank God there is a PC in my home network
(the other 3 machines are Macs) to keep me semi-
functional until I get this figured out.
