Entourage - View pane generates corrupt database error when certain message comes into view.

In my inbox, I have an older e-mail, from May. In the viewing pane, as
soon as I scroll down to this message, an error pops up saying my
database may be corrupt. I have verified, and everything is fine. For
kicks, I have even repaired a couple of times. And it successfully
completes this task.
However, WHENEVER I get to that message in the viewing pane, the error
pops up. I can click Cancel and scroll away, and it will be fine. If I
stay there, it will pop up a few moments later, ad nauseum.

So how can I get rid of this message? I can't select it because that
corrupt database error pops up. Also, the message is partially grayed
out, just the top horizontal half. Strangest thing I've ever seen in
dealing with Entourage for 4 years.

Can you select and delete this mail if you turn off the preview pane first?

No. I can't go anywhere near the message in any way, or the corrupt
database alert will popup.

Turn the Preview Pane off FIRST, then select the message. I think you'll
find it works.

View/Preview Pane/None. Now there's no "viewing pane". Select, delete, then
empty Deleted Items folder for good measure. Now you can turn preview Pane
on again.

I know that, but I have a feeling that he may not have actually done so.
