Entourage will not work after update

Just updated to service pack 2 and when I start Entourage 2004 it shows
that it updating identy. I then get a message that "Microsoft Database
Daemon has encountered a problem...."

The next window says "Entourage cannot access your data. To attempt to
fix the problem, rebuild database" I have verified the original it
appears to be valid. I have also rebuilt the data base and tried using
it with the same error message.

Does anyone have advice? Is there a way to roll back the update? I
also have problems while trying out the other apps like Word. Thanks.

You could delete your Office installation by using the remove office
tool and reinstall by the CD, and then apply only the SP1 update. If
you do that, you might as well attempt the SP2 update again just to see
if it was just a fluke. If it happens again, then do the above without
SP2 update.

If you end up going to the trouble of going back to the version you had
previously to Entourage 2004 SP 2 (assuming it was 11.x.x), I would be
interested to know if that version's Database Utility reports problems with
your identity during a verification run. If it does not, and upgrading that
identity causes the identity to no longer be usable, I would be interested
in that identity.

There are definitely some cases where some corruption could exist but the
Database Utility wouldn't notice it, and subsequent use of the identity
reveals the problem. However, if the identity is fine and the upgrade still
fails, then we'd like to address that problem.
