I get an error message saying: the OE rules file appears corrupt.
Rules cannot be used.
What should I do
First go to ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/Office 2004 Identities/Main
Identity/ folder (or Office X or 2001 Identities - you didn't say which
version you have - and if you've renamed your identity then whatever name
that is). Remove the "Rules" file to your desktop and try launching. It's
quite possible that you may get a similar error message about the Mailing
Lists and Signatures files and may have to remove those too. When they've
all been removed, you should start up OK. If not, hold down the Option key
and launch again. Choose "Rebuild" (if in 2004) or "Advanced" (if in X or
2001).
When done, you should be OK. You will have to remake your Rules and
whichever other feature (Mailing Lists, Signatures) you may have had to
remove.
