entourage won't run

My Entourage for Office 2001 has quit working (using OS 9.22) and I
lost about a year worth of mail. I get an error #4361. I've tried
removing preferences, increasing allocated memory and rebuilding the
database (both typical and advanced) as suggested by Microsoft website
but it hasn't worked. Is
there another solution?

Thank you for responding. I've tried deleting Internet prefreences and
the Mail Identity preferences but unfortunately for me the result is
the same -- Entourage won't start. Do you think a Mac/Microsoft expert
would be able to fix this problem?

If it's your database, no one will be able to fix that. The first thing you
need to do is determine where the problem is located so you can take the
appropriate steps to correct the problem.

Try renaming your Identity so Entourage will start with a new blank
Identity. If this works then you know that it's your database that is hosed.
If it does not start up then it's something on your computer. This could be
anything from bad preferences to disk fragmentation.

If it is your database, then you might see if you can import into another
mail application then back into your new identity.
