Entourage X and Exchange

I have followed the directions to a tee on the Microsoft website for
configuring Entourage X for an Exchange server at my new place of work. I am
able to connect to the server. However, I get an error that basically says
"User ID or password is incorrect." My sys admin insists I'm using the
correct form of each, and yes, I did put my User ID in the form of
Domain\username as detailed in Microsoft's instructions on the website. I
wish I could say the only problem is my sys admin's unfamiliarity with Mac,
but I don't think he's all that familiar with network administration. It
looks like I will have to do the whole thing myself. Any suggestions?

Hi Tony,
I've problems similar to yours. But at least I can provide 4 simple hints:
1. Check if your Exchange-Admin has opened OWA (Outlook Web-Access).
Without that activated nearly any source is telling: No way to connect
directly and use all tools (like syncing with Exchage Adress-Book,
Calendar and such).
2. If anything fails (even with the help of the before posted Web-Site)
try this: Use Exchange as IMAP-Server (It has to be activated by the
Exchange-Staff).
3. If anything is even worse ;-) Try to use exchange as SMTP.
4. You should in ANY case update to the most recent versions of Office
and Entourage (think there is a 10.1.5 out there)

I was having the same problem. I had the administrator reset the users
password and it started working. I do not know why.
