Entourage X and Updater patch

Hi,

I am completely new to Macs, and my computer came loaded with Office X.
I have a Hotmail Plus account, and would like to use Entourage to
retrieve my mail. I figured out that I needed the SR 10.1.6 update
patch, which I downloaded.

I installed it and it then prompted me to enter in a serial number for
Entourage. I entered in the serial number that was provided with my
computer (which worked before to use Entourage) and it said it was
invalid.

I am losing my mind as all I want to do is get my email and I can't get
it to work. I appreciate any help you can give an Office X and Mac
newbie. My Mac OS is 10.2.3.

Where did you buy your computer with office pre-loaded? It is quite likely a
pirated serial number that you have been given - these are routinely
disabled with updates.

Hi Barry,

Thank you for helping. I got my Mac off of Ebay. If it is pirated, I'm
basically out of luck, right? I'll have to save up to get Office X.
