Entourage X calendar vanishes entirely (twice!)

Hi
I run Entourage 10.1.4 (and recently updated to 10.1.6) running on my
Mac OS X.3 powerbook. I sync with Office exchange server version 2003
at work. Twice in the past week all my calendar events on the
Mac-based entourage program have disappeared entirely. Contacts, email
(both those stored in mailboxes based on my Mac and those stored in
Exchange-server based mail boxes) are all preserved.

The calendar is completely empty except that one suspects that some
data is recognized as applying to the calendar because the little
mini-calendar in the lower left corner has "bolded" days where events
are scheduled. But none are visible at all.

The last time this happened I rebuilt the database twice (didn't
help).
I then pulled down a copy of the database from a backup a week old or
so. Lost some email but the events were back, until the same problem
recurred.

My calendar events are still (for now) visible on the web-based
"Microsoft Outlook Web Access"

Anyone have any idea what to do? I have seen prior postings reporting
this problem but no support from Microsoft folks saying what to do or
what might be wrong.

I likely need to quit using Entourage altogether for calendar purposes
if this continues.

I should note that the database for this identity is 1.98 GB. I have
applied the Service Release 1 and I recall reading that with the
service release, I thought it tolerated 4 GB. But....is this really
true? Is my problem the 2GB limit?

Well, having posted the above, I was surprised to watch my calendar
slowly, over about an hour, reconstitute all its events, blank days
filling in with my overcrammed schedule. I have to guess that one of 2
things happened---either the calendar reloaded its events from my
work-based Microsoft Exchange server, or it somehow went through a
rebuilding process of its own...if anyone has a clue how to prevent
Entourage calendars from disappearing, please respond....

Check that the little filter window at top right hasn't accidentally got
something entered into it.
