I downloaded the 10.1.4 update for Office X and found that my palm
would no longer sync -- it would unexpectedly quit for my addresses
and memo items. For some reason it would work if I tried syncing only
a specific category of contacts in my address book, suggesting it was
a memory problem. I tried everything and erased almost all my data in
the process.
The solution was to find an updated Handheld sync installer -- it's on
the mactopia website, and is listed as also being 10.1.4. After
installing this, things seemed to work.
Why didn't microsoft tell me to do this when I ran the Office updater?
Better yet, why wasn't the handheld update included with office
updater itself?
Whatever. Anyway, hope someone else comes across this solution before
they wreck their computer like I did :-Q
