Entourage X corrupt database -any Entourage experts out there?

Any entourage specialists out there? I have a client who waited too
long to upgrade from Entourage x to 2004. Now their e-mail database is
corrupted. Repairs quit about 90% of the way through with a message
saying not enough disk space to save the repaired file or something to
that affect, the mail file is 3.5 GB, freespace on the Mac is 48GB. I
have done all of the usual troublshooting, zapped pram, perms repair,
and updated the office x software to the latest available release.

Does anyone have any other tricks I might try?

Could it be possible that it¹s looking for unfragmented space?

What happens when you try to import it into Entourage 2004?

When you look inside the Identity folder, are there ³old² files that can be
removed? Do you need these ³old² files for backup? It¹s possible that any
³old² files can be used over the real ones as they might not contain the
corruption. It¹s pretty common for users to rebuild and not throw away the
old files when they are satisfied with the rebuild.

I haven't tried defraging thr drive it's worth a shot. There are no
recent enough 'old' files there were a couple that were 6 months old
but they were purged in the quest for more space.

It looks like your database is hosed beyond repair. Look at this as a
learning experience and keep backups.
