Entourage X Failure

I was using Entourage X today and it then unexpectedly quit. When I
tried to reopen, it said I needed to rebuild my database. When I tried
to do that, it said "Compacting Failed. A read/write error occurred
(-40)".

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Error -40 is a positioning error (tried to position before start of file).
This might indicate file system corruption. Try running Apple's Disk
Utility: First Aid and repairing the disk till it shows clean.
