Entourage X Identity problems

Last night entourage suddenly went back to just having the "Main
Identity" show up. I tried restoring our identities from my backup
disk, but no luck. The names show up in the "Switch Identity" pane,
but when you try to select one you go right back to "Main Identity".
I deleted Office X and reinstalled it and ran all the updates. Still
the same problem. I repaired the permissions. Still the same
problem. I restored the databases. No luck. If I rename "Main
Identity" a new one gets created. If I try to set up an account using
"Main Identity" it just makes a new folder with the same name (not
deleting the old one) and continues on only letting me access "Main
Identity"

What should I try next?

Have you tried deleting the 'Microsoft' folder in ~/Library/Preferences ?

I tried that just now. Same result. I restored my old "Office X
Identities" from my backup CD and launched Entourage with the Office X
Identities folder open. A new folder, "Main Identity" was created and
that was the identity that came up. Even if I switch identities it
always says "Main Identity" at the top.

What should I try next?
