Entourage X will not rebuild my database

G

Guest

Running Entourage X Version SR1 with OS 10.2.8

The database is at 3.99 GB, and the program will not launch as it
displays a 4GB limit has been reached, "Perform a typical or
advanced rebuild to resolve the problem".

Well, each time I perform either a typical or advance rebuild, an
error message comes up stating that I do not have enough disk
space. While my DB file is 3.99 GB, and I have at least 20 GB of
free space on my harddrive, I continue to get the same message
and then Entourage unexpectedly quits.

Any resolve or ideas?

Once I get into Entourage with my existing data, everything will
be better.

I should add that the only time a rebuild is successful is when I
run an advance build. But, after the rebuild is complete, and the
program wants to start up, the message that states the
database has reached the 4GB limit comes up, and it
recommends that I rebuild the database again. An endless loop!

I just found Paul B.'s response to someone who had posted my
problem. Apparently, Office 2004 is the answer to everything as it
offers limitless storage for the database. Until then, I'm mourning
the loss of my address book whic makes up most of the 3.99
GBS! If anyone else has a workaround, please let me know!
Thank you

You won't have too long to wait now. It's better not to mess it up any
further - it might already be too far gone from these unsuccessful rebuilds.
(If you kept a backup copy before you started rebuilding. that would be the
best one to attempt with 2004.)
