Entourage X

G'day
The data file wont even Option Launch at start-up to enable a rebuild.
The error message it throws up is:-
³Error occurred launching. The Entourage Temp Folder could not be found.
It is likely you have a file or folder with the same name or an Alias that
doesn¹t point to the correct folder.²

No, the Temp folder is where it should be. No, removing the Temp folder
doesn¹t fix it. No aliases anywhere.

Went to http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html#error_tempfolde
Office X reinstalls haven¹t fixed it. The Remove Office doesn¹t
really work, so did manual removals instead. Still no go.

Any ideas?
Apple G4, OS X.2 MS Entourage X (Office 10.0 no updates) Data file is
250MB.

Some thoughts...

1. "The Remove Office doesn't work..." What happens? Any Error messages?

2. Have you tried to repair permissions?

3. Have you applied all updates to your office install? If the database was
created with any updates applied, a basic install won't be able to read it.
In any case, you should apply th eupdates as they contain a variety of bug
fixes and improvements which may allow you to access your data.

Try this... Put a copy of your Identity in your Shared folder. Now create a
new user in System Preferences. Launch Entourage and let it create a new
Microsoft User Data folder. Quit Entourage. Move your Identity from the
Shared folder to the new Microsoft User Data folder and let it replace the
new blank identity. Launch Entourage. What happens?

Can you rebuild in the new User?
