I updated my system to 10.3.7 this week and since then Entourage
crashes everytime I try to download my e-mail. any suggestions?

After an update, it's a good idea to run Repair Permissions and restart to
fix any problems.

To use Repair Permissions:
1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
4. Click the repair permissions button.

Don't run from CD. Updates contain a newer version of Repair Permissions.

Run Repair Permissions from the volume being repaired.

If you continue to have problems with Entourage, hold down the Option key
when starting Entourage and select to rebuild database.

Probably the junk email filter. Open Entourage. If it crashes right away,
unplug your internet and try again. Go to tools->Junk E-mail Protection,
uncheck the box Enable Junk Email Protection, or select None, depending on
version of Entourage. Check email, delete corrupted spam messages, turn
filter back on, works ok.

If that does resolve the problem, it means that you need to get the latest
update.

If you have Office 2004, download and install the latest Office 2004
update, which is Office 2004 Service Pack 1. Service Pack 1 includes a
number of fixes that are documented in this article on the Microsoft
Knowledge Base:

In Office 2004, use Microsoft AutoUpdate to get the latest updates. From
any Office application, go to Help > Check for Updates (or manually launch
Microsoft AutoUpdate from the Applications folder). If any updates are
needed, they will display in a sheet, at which point you can check them and
press the "Install" button to download and install them.

Updates can also be found at the Microsoft web site:

If you have Office X, download and install the latest Office X update, which
is 10.1.6. It's available from Microsoft.

In addition to other replies:

It might not have anything to do with the update, but a sheer
coincidence: There's a corrupt file on your mail server trying to be
downloaded which makes Entourage choke and crash.
Solution: If you have a web interface of your mail account, go there and
delete any suspicious mail. If you don't have such access, talk to
whoever administrates your mail account to have them delete strange mails.
