Entourage

When I open newly installed Entourage 2008, it brings up the mail window. Then the "barber pole" in the lower right hand corner starts to rotate, and after just a few seconds it stops, and the software locks up. The only thing I can do is a "Force Quit".

I have reloaded the Entourage software and the same thing happens. Any ideas?

What type of account? (POP, IMAP, Exchange). The first time you connect
to a server it can take a long time. If this is a POP account, try
testing in a new Identity. Under Entourage in the Menu bar select
Switch Identity --> New. Enter your account info. Do you see the same
problem?
