WHEN I ATTEMPT TO OPEN ENTOURAGE:MAC 2008 I GET THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE
"THIS IDENTITY CANNOT BE OPENED WITH THIS VERSION OF ENTOURAGE"

All Caps is considered shouting!

"This Identity Cannot Be Opened With This Version of Entourage"
This message usually means, for example, any Identity saved with a 12.1.0 or
later version will not open in 12.0.0 or 12.0.1. Since there was a database
format change in 12.1.0 (SP1), Entourage 12.0.0 or 12.0.1 cannot open a
database saved in the later version.

Entourage 2004 also had a database upgrade from the original release. Once
you upgrade, the Identity will open.

Are you trying to upgrade Office 2004 or Office 2008? The method is
different because Office switched from a Vise installer to a package
installer with Office 2008.

Under Help in the Menu bar for either version, you should be able to launch
the Microsoft AutoUpdater (MAU). I say should because unless your 2008 MAU
has been updated to v2.2 you will not see the updates for Office 2008. Check
the version here:

/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/MAU2.0/Microsoft AutoUpdate
