equation editor displays "wrong" symbols / fonts

Hi,

I am using ms word from xp office standard. Yr 2002, I think. When i tried to insert an equation, for example: p equals to h divided by lambda. I get h is a subset of h divided by another symbol. I do not wish to download mathtype

Please help
