Error - 1309

Megan O'Shea

Hello,

I am having trouble saving a back up copy of my microsoft user data folder
on to a Lacie 160GB Fire Wire hard drive. The folder begins to copy but is
interrupted and a message appears stating that the action cannot be
completed due to error - 1309.

I would be grateful for any help...

With thanks,

Megan

Do you have an iSight connected?

Sorry I can't help. The iSight was my problem when attempting to copy large
files to a La Cie FW drive. Disconnecting it cured the problem (after I'd
bought another drive and had the same problem.)

You don't have one of those lovely new computers with an iSight built in? No
other FW devices connected?

I have discovered an 'isightAudio.plugin' which I didn't know I had. Do you
think this might be the problem and, if so, can I just trash it as I have
never used it and don't even know what it is for?

This error is NOT listed on the Error Page.

<http://www.entourage.mvps.org/error/page.html>

All Entourage generated errors get a descriptive text as well as the error
number. However, if you get an error number without descriptive text, it's
coming either from a mail server or the Operating System or some other
application not from Entourage. Many of the errors in Entourage are simply
return results from whatever the server passes. Your ISP might be able to
help you with these. If the message simply says An error occurred and gives
a number, this is an Apple operating system message.

I'm guessing this is an Apple operating system message or your Lacie
software. Most likely it's a size or permissions problem.

I don't know Megan. My problem - which was that large transfers to a FW
drive would eventually stall - went away when I disconnected my iSight. I
didn't have to delete any software.
