Error 1401

Entourage won't send mail - I get "HTTP error. Access to the resource
has not been authorized." Error 1401 How do I regain "access to the
resource"?

I'm back to getting a 1401 Error again. I took all the steps that
Teresa suggested, then got a Error 1500. Today, mysteriously, I'm back
to the 1401 Error.

I have the very latest version of Entourage (10.1.4, 030702) and
Panther 10.3.2.

Certainly someone has solved this. Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi Brian,

Did you try the steps that I sent you earlier?

1-Go to the following location:
(Hard Drive:/Users/Home/Library/Preferences)

2-Move out the following two files to the desktop:
-com.apple.Internetconfig.plist
-com.apple.Interentpref.plist

If not, try these and let us know how this goes.

I am using Entourage X - V. 10.1.1 (2418) Is an update available for
the error1401?

Create a new User in System Preferences. Switch to the new user. Open
Entourage and create your accounts. Select to leave messages on the server.
BCC yourself on any sent messages. Test Entourage to see if the problem
still exists. If it does not, this means the problem is in your User's
folder.

When you switch back to your current User, Entourage will be able to
download any mail that was left on the server so all your mail will be
intact.
