Ive only had this powerbook g4 (10.4.4) for 2 months. Entourage has
crashed twice in that time - each time all emails/address/calendars
gone!! (as it is new the version is 11.2.1)
The first time happened while I was performing a sync with my pda via
pocket pc, and may have been due to that software. (although the
pocket pc people's solution was to update to their newest version -
which I already had - after all the computer was only three weeks old)
This second time it happened I was opening it to check my email.
Talking on Skype and had iphoto and safari open but that shouldnt cause
a meltdown!!
The window said error 16008 and when I pressed ok it just flashed up
again and again and again. I searched the error and - wow - it seems
it has been repaired in 2004!! (unfortunately not on my mac it seems).
I forced a quit and now no more addresses, calendar, or emails (luckily
after the last issue I have been saving important mail as pdf by
dragging to desktop, but there were about 20 emails I had not yet
read.)
I went to find Microsoft user data - but it did not help (it was a new
creation from reopening entourage). Can anyone help me regain my
emails!
Any help would be appreciated, because for now my solution is - dont
use entourage! Fortunately the addresses and calendar are in my pda
(and in macAddress and iCal). and I will now be using Mail as my
default email. Was office for Mac a waste of money - perhaps!?!?
