Error 1605 in Microsoft Outlook 2003

T

Tom Preece

I bought a new pc. It had a trial version of office. I uninstalled it and
replaced it with the Student Teacher 2003 edition. Now Outlook comes up with
error 1605 no matter what I do. I have uninstalled it and reinstalled. I
find stuff on the web that refers to reg entries for 2002 but I have no idea
of that will do a thing for 2003

Start Outlook in safe mode by Start-> Run; "path to outlook.exe" /safe

Then go to Tools-> Options-> tab Other-> button Advanced Options...-> button
Add-In Manager/COM Add-Ins and deselect them all and close Outlook.

Start Outlook normally and see if the error is gone now. If so enable the
add-ins one-by-one (restart Outlook eacht time you enable one) to find the
culprit.
