Error 16999 in Entourage

Well, I am a mac newbie so here are my questions:

1. I have been reading the messages posted here and am wondering a
couple of things.

2. How do I go about identifying a damaged email? I do have web access
to my email account, but can't figure out how to find a damaged email
message?

3. How do I check the version number of Office 2004? Just by looking at
one of the application's help menu (i.e. Word->About Word)?

You don't ask about Error 16999, but here is the info on the error:

Error -16999

Solution: Try using account with secure password selected and not selected.

* In the Account window, select "Click here for advanced receiving options
button".
* Toggle "Always use secure password"
* Try to receive mail again.

Usually a damaged email is malformed spam message. If you check your mail
using web access, it will usually be the oldest email listed.
