All of a sudden, my Entourage 2004 stopped sending messages and threw up
this error. Has anyone encountered this or knows what to do? Thanks in
advance....
-17099 is kSMTPServerReplyErr which we set when the SMTP server returns a
reply code that is in the 400s (transiently negative) or 500s (permanently
negative). It sounds from the error message that it might have been code
550, as if your SMTP server was not willing to send along the e-mail at that
time, based on the credentials you used and your IP address. Was it on a
particular message? Did this problem go away after a while?
Your outgoing e-mail server (SMTP server) manager may have settings that
restrict what e-mail it will accept and from whom, and it seems to be
getting triggered.
