Error 17897

Attempting to send email from Entourage 2004 over SBC DSL service while
visiting away from home. Incoming POP account on Yahoo! Mail works
perfectly. Tried settings that work on my wife's PC in Outlook Express
with no success. What is it with Entourage? I've recently switched from
a PC to Mac.

Highly frustrated.

Error -17897 is our internal error kNet_NoAuthenticatorsFound, and there
should have been an associated error message, "Authentication failed because
Entourage doesn't support any of the available authentication methods."

We support Basic authentication, CRAM-MD5, and NTLM authentication, all of
which are ways to provide evidence to the server that you have the correct
password. What does SBC's POP service support? If they're using another
authentication mechanism we don't support, that might be the problem. Or we
might not be handling the list of supported authenticators they send us.
