error 2171

Hello Out There!

Having problems with Entourage Mail (I'm on OSX v. 10.2.6, Office v. X).
Specifically, when attempting to view my Inbox and other folders, I get
a dialog box which says "Error: Mail could not be received at this time.
Explanation: The server returned the following error Lost mailbox lock.
Error: -2171".

I use an IMAP server. Anyone have any ideas (I already repaired Disk
Permissions in an attempt to fix)?

Go to Tools -> Accounts, and open your IMAP server. Click the "Options"
tab, and uncheck the option to "Send commands to server simultaneously".
Does that help?

Dear Mickey:

I tried your suggestion (thanks!) and the inbox messages came up
briefly, then disappeared and the bar at the bottom of the Mail screen
reverted to "0 items displayed, 0 selected". The system obviously was
able to log me in and retrieve the messages, but for some reason then
decided to remove them.

I have 3 "accounts" apparently, "On My Computer", "Dominant", and
"Main". I don't know what the differences are among them, but I know
that I should be using "Dominant".

Sorry for the bother...
