Error -3253 When Sending Mail

Hi there,

First, I inadvertently posted to the "old" group.

Have my Mac account as the default on Entourage (also default). Keep
getting this error message when trying to send mail from this account...

Connection to the server failed or was dropped.

Explanation: Mail could not be sent.
Account: .Mac Account

There are no attachments, this message is maybe 150 characters long. If
only a short message with a link (URL) then no problem. However, seems to
be an intermittent problem that I can't really pin down.

Any ideas please on what's causing this and what can hopefully be done to
rectify the situation? I can switch and send a message from any other
account, it's only the .Mac one that's an issue.

-3253 usually means "connection reset by peer" meaning that the server
refused the connection.

There are no attachments, this message is maybe 150 characters long. If

Are you attempting to connect using SSL?? THat could well be an SSL
issue...
It could also be a wrong login and password used for sending e-mail on
the SMTP server.
