ERROR -40 DATABASE CORRUPT

I'm using entourage in office X.
Out of nowhere appeared a : error -40 .
My database seems corrupt. It's 1.99GB


If i try to do a rebuild, it doesnt work

no, i dont have any back up and yes the information in the database is
very important. I tried downloading the tryout for office 2004.
Tricked the database inside the identities folder. It then rebuilds it, but still
cannot open it. Database daemon detects an error.


Pleeease somedy tell me a trick. Can I go inside the database and remove
the thras content, or pictures anr anything to make the database smaller
and then save it again?

Dont feel like using entouraid neither....

If that doesn't work, download and install the latest Office X updates,
which are 10.1.2, 10.1.4, and 10.1.5 (10.1.3 is unnecessary). They¹re
available from Microsoft.

Then try rebuilding the database again. The database size in the original
release of Entourage was 2 GB, but it was increased to 4 GB in the updates,
so your data might still be accessible if you apply them (I'm guessing you
haven't yet).
