Error: 441

Just recently we have been getting the Error: 441 suggesting to the reader
that the Microsoft Newsgroups is involved.

Any suggestions on killing off this message?

Please be more specific. Exactly what are you trying to do when you get
this error, and what exactly does it say?

The Mactopia forum is an interface to the Entourage newsgroup. The Mactopia
interface does not allow attachments. However, if you use a newsreader, you
can send attachments although it's best to use a service like ImageShack to
do so to be a good net citizen.

Error 441 is not an Entourage error.

Still getting the error message. I think it is most definitely an Entourage
message. One example when it appears is when Entourage is launched and gets
into checking to see if there is mail. It appears within 30 seconds. Other
times it appears when we are using Entourage.
It always says the same message which is:

ERROR
"(607) Article Rejected -- The 'Newsgroups:' field requires one or more
values.
EXPLANATION
Could not post this article.
Account name: "Microsoft News Server"

....its all very frustrating.

I do remember that we started to get this message when I activated the
Microsoft News Server folder in the left-side folder list. Trouble seemed to
start then. Any thoughts about this would be most helpful even if you can
tell me how to turn off/deactivate the Microsoft News Server folder..

What account did you select in the Account window --> News tab --> email
account?

Can you take a screen shot of a message you compose the newsgroup before
trying to post? You can post a screenshot link using a service like
ImageShack. ImageShack is an easy-to-use free media hosting service. It can
be used to upload images. Registration is not required in order to upload
files.

How To Post Screen Shots To Newsgroups

1. On your keyboard, press Command-Shift-4.
2. On your keyboard, press the space bar.
3. Click the window you want. A picture file will appear on the desktop.
4. Go to http://imageshack.us/.
5. Click Browse, then navigate to and select the picture file.
6. Click "host it!".
7. Paste the "Show image to friends" URL in a newsgroup message.
