Error 5421-"This service is no longer available to you"

J

Javier Ergueta

I use Entourage: Mac v.X, version 10.1.4 (030702)

I have been using it on my eMac, connected through Verizon DSL, for the last
year without problem. Suddenly last night it did not let me send out any
messages on my main OS X user account, although I can do so on another (my
wife¹s) user account.

The error message I get is ³Mail could not be sent...This service is no
longer available to you. Error 5421².

I have turned off the application and the computer and re-started them. I
have verified with Verizon that my account remains fully active, and I can
send mail using my account from Verizon¹s webmail site. I have tried
deleting the Entourage account setup info and recreating it from scratch. I
find no reference to this error # elsewhere.

Any ideas?

Thanks

That error message is not one generated by entourage, but is being passed on
from the network. It sounds very mush like Verizon have turned off access to
ports 25/110. Are you trying to send mail through their mail servers, or
some other mail server?
