Error -61 -- Can't import emails from Entourage 2001 to Entourage 11.3.3

My old G3 iMac just died. I've been trying without success to import
the info from my Microsoft User Data backup to my G5, running
Entourage 11.3.3.

When I select the Main Identity, it says the info could not be
imported, and gives error -61.

I'm desperate and having a hard time running my small business without
the past several years worth of emails/addresses available to me.

Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated!

Since you are not able to import your data, I can only think of one other
option. Do you have access to a Mac that is still running OS 9, or do you
have Classic support installed on your G5? Open the identity in Entourage
2001 and export the items you need manually. Drag your e-mail folders from
the folder list to the desktop, and you will get .mbox files which you can
easily drag into Entourage 2004's folder list. File>Export should give you
the possibility of saving your address book as a tab-delimited text file,
which can be imported into Entourage 2004 by choosing File>Import.

Note that these are standard procedures in Entourage, and they work in
Entourage v.X and 2004. I have never used 2001, so I am not sure if these
methods work exactly the same way in that version.

When you are moving to a new computer, copy the data over. The importer
does not like it on a secondary source.

Don't use an alias as the source for import.
