error accessing file message

I have a powerpoint presentation that was created on a Mac and then
transferred back and forth between a Mac and PC using a flash drive. A week
ago, it worked perfectly on both the Mac and PC -- now after not changing the
file I cannot open it on either computer from the flash drive or from the
hard drive when I transfer the file there. Powerpoint displays "There was an
error accessing ..." any time I try to open the file. Any suggestions on
retrieving any of the slides or individual slides?

Also, were you saving directly to and working directly from the flash drive?
