error codes 1706 and 1711 how do I fix this with out the disc

I have error codes 1706 and 1711. I am told there 17 files missing. It maybe
Data1 msi files. I asked Micrsoft office 200o premium for help. I dont have a
disc the software came with the computor when it was new. Please help how do
I get the files back so I acn upgrade. 2nd how do you lose files in the first
place?

Are you saying you are encountering these errors when you try to apply
updates for Office 2000?

Unfortunately if you do not have the installation CDs then there is
little you can do. Even if you find the missing files and/or Data1.msi
and get past the errors you will still be prompted to insert your
installation CDs.

As for how the files are 'lost' or missing, since Office came
preinstalled on your computer then it's likely they never existed on
your specific computer to begin with. It's typical for OEMs to use an
image and an installation source on their network. :-(
