error message 4362

M

mountainguide

I have an e-mail message, in my inbox, that can't be opend, or even
viewed. Everytime my cursor goes over it, the error message 4362 comes
up. I can't get to it to throw it away and it is wreaking havoc in my
inbox. The line where it is is opaque and has little pin strips on it.
I have entourage X with the a brand new imac with the os x.
Anyone know what to do?
Thx, Ian

i am having the same problem affecting both the deleted and sent items
folders. i visited the link listed below and tried both solutions
(running the apple script and the option to turn off the preview
pane), but to no avail. in an attempt to get rid of whatever is
corrupting those folders, i set schedules to delete all items from
both folders on quit, but still no luck. i suspect that my issue is
also the result of a corrupt message. in both folders, messages that
are "normal" display as usual, but other visible portions of the
window appear as described below - opaque with the blue pin stripes.
as yet, this is not affecting any other folder and if i don't try to
select the items i can't see in that opaque with blue stripes space, i
seem to be fine. any thoughts?

Try rebuilding your database.

How to rebuild your database:

If you¹re in Entourage X, first go to
Entourage -> Turn Off Office Notifications. Quit Entourage, and then restart
Entourage holding down the Option key. When the Rebuild dialog box comes up,
choose to do a Typical Rebuild.
You might need to do advanced rebuild.

Another thought to try....
1. View messages using online access. Look at oldest message as the
culprit.

Try deleting it online.

How to use Online Access: Go to Tools/Accounts/that account/Edit/Options.
Check "Allow online access". That puts an icon of your account in the Folder
List.

Click on the account icon. You're now looking at the messages on the
server.

Let me know how this goes.
