Hello,

I have been stuck on trying to get a solution to this problem. Here
is what i get when i try to open an attachement in entourage:

"Permission to access this file was Denied this could be caused by the
file being open in another application"

I have tried everything i could think of. Here is a list of what i
tried!

I repaired Disk permissions
I Rebuilt Database (almost 5 times)
I empty Microsoft Preferences in side of the User library folder!
I tired to Delete the emial with the attachment and resent a new email
and still same thing!

Please if anyone can help it is Greatly Appreciated!

Drag one of the messages to Shared Folder. Create a new User in System
Preferences and log out/in to the new user. Open Entourage there. Drag the
message from Shared and open. What happens?

If it does work then this indicates a problem in your User folder. Eliminate
your database by creating a new Identity in Entourage and test the message
there. If it doesn't work in a new Identity then it's a conflict in your
User's folder. If it does work then it's your database.

If it doesn't work in the new User, then I would apply the latest Apple
combo updater.

You might need to download the combo updater from Apple and run it again
rather than using Software Update. Doing so overwrites potentially
problem-causing files. Several users have reported this fixed some odd
problems they were having with Entourage. Combo updaters will install on the
same version as they¹re applying‹no need to roll back or do a clean install.
