Error message question

FrontPage 2002 & Win XP

Every time I try to publish I get that warning/error message you get
when someone has gone in from another computer and made live changes.
The problem is that no one else has gone in and made any changes... and
the error message has a strange date on it:

The page PontOldsBuick/70PontGTOJudgeWhite.htm has been modified by
(unknown)on 31 Dec 1969 19:00:00 -0500

And if I click yes to overwrite the changes then it just locks up.

I had the host check the server and they say it's showing the correct
date. And I've uninstalled, cleaned, and reinstalled the extensions and
nothing changes. Do you think it could be a problem with FrontPage or
maybe my computer?

could I do that from any system running any version of FrontPage? I'm
not at the office at the moment and my laptop only has FP 2000.

Hi Matt,

Sounds as if the meta dictionaries are "hosed". Open the web on the
server then do a Tools | Recalc Hyperlinks to see if that

This probably won't help, but it could be worth a shot. Open the web site
using File | Open Web and use the Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks. That
updates all the file information that the FP Server Extensions keep on the
web. It could be that there's a mixup with the FP information and not the
file itself.

Sometimes a file gets messed up when a virus scanner is going through a page
and that could also be an issue if the web host is running a virus scanner,
but this is a lower propability as most hosts have the virus scanenrs setup
correctly.

Hope this helps,
