Error Message re AddIns

Whenever Outlook 2003 is launched an error message appears ( and needs to be
OK'd before work can begin), which says 'C:\Documents and
Settings\...\Application Data\Microsoft\Addins\' is not a valid Office Add-in.
The Addins folder at that location is empty, and I've looked in the Registry
for any obvious invalid add-ins related to the Outlook keys without success.
Does anyone know where the spurious error message is generated and how I can
get rid of it?

Close Outlook, and with searching within hidden folders enabled, find and
delete the extend.dat file. See if you still get the error message when you
restart Outlook.
