ERROR MESSAGE: Unable to log on to pop server

This occured overnight. Last night all was well. I put my machine in sleep
mode, woke up, got on the net, opened outlook and could not get my mail. I
can send mail, though. Contacted RoadRunner and I can get to my mail via the
webmail account. Changed my password with RR (thinking it was the problem),
deleted my account in "tools" "email accounts", re-created one with new
password, re-booted the machine and STILL can not retrieve my mail.

The error message is: Task 'pop server.tambabay.rr.com - Receiving error
(0x800CCC92): Your email server rejected your log-in. Verify your username
and password, .......etc,etc,etc,

RR rep says it's a PWL issue. Not sure how a file can get corrupt by itself
overnight but I am not a software person.

Hi,
so the error message told you what is going on.
Check your Account settings. ;-)

Andreas, I did. And so did the RR rep. All settings are correct.

It turns out there WAS a problem with the RR outgoing server that the rep
was unaware of and 90 minutes later the problem resolved itself. There is
nothing wrong with my Outlook.

Thank you for answering, though.

Vilmar
