Error Number: 0x80040601 when attempting to send

Hi,

When I attempt to send SMTP mail from Outlook 2000 SP-3 (9.0.0.6627) I get
this error message.

(Sending Error (Account: "somename", SMTP Server: 'server.isp.net',Error
Number: 0x80040601).



This installation had been working and continues to receive e-mail from all
the configured POP3 accounts.

I have search the MS knowledge base and can not find this error number.
Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi Joe,

The 0x80040601 error is one fo the standard SMTP errors. It indicates the
following response from the server, "MAPI_E_NOT_IN_QUEUE." This error can
be caused by a lot of factors, so let's start with some basic Outlook
troubleshooting. Create yourself a new Outlook profile, and see if that
helps your situation. Also run the Inbox Repair Tool on your PST file, and
run a Detect and Repair in Outlook (Help -> Detect and Repair).
