error on form

Irma

My contact form on one of my sites upon hitting the submit button is taken to
a page that displays this message:

The requested URL /_derived/nortbots.htm was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an
ErrorDocument to handle the request.

However, I do receive the information that was filled in on the form! How do
I get rid of this error message. The other sites that I have all have the
exact same code and do not receive the error message.
Thank you,

The site in question is www.joepaulgonzalez.com/contact.html
One of the others with the same code is www.monicajohnson.org/contact.htm
I use the same company to host the sites www.everity.com so I don't
understand the problem. Front Page extensions have been reinstalled twice for
me. I also did some research at the microsoft help site and took their
advice for method no. 2:
Method 2: Remove the Reference to Nortbots.htm
1. In FrontPage Explorer, open your Web on the server.
2. Double-click the page that contains the form. The page will open in
FrontPage Editor.
3. Click inside the form area. NOTE: The dashed line indicates the boundary
of the form.
4. Click the HTML tab at the bottom of the FrontPage Editor window. You will
see HTML code similar to the following:
<form method="POST" name="myform"
onSubmit="location.href='_derived/nortbots.htm';return false;"
action="--WEBBOT-SELF--">

5. Remove the entire line of code that begins with the "onSubmit" statement.
Your code will now look similar to the following:
<form method="POST" name="myform"
action="--WEBBOT-SELF--">

6. On the File menu, click Save.

I uploaded the new form under contacattest.html and now receive this error
message:
The requested URL /--WEBBOT-SELF-- was not found on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an
ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Thank you for your help on this.

Hi

this is happen for proper submiting the form on server.

If you want to your form is working just confuger the form in frontpage
and uplod the page through the front page on server.

Follow this step.
1. First Upload the page on server with any ftp software.
2. open page in from page from server.
e.g. In front page open file manu just type.
www.joepaulgonzalez.com/contact.html
3. Confuger the form and save the page on server through fron page.
4. close the file & try to access the page.

If the also page is not working pleace check on server the frontpage
extension is installed or not.

If the facility is not available the try other utility to submit the
form.

i hope this information is usefull for you.

How are you uploading the page - it sounds like you are using FTP,
which will cause failure of the form exactly as you describe.
The website must be published using File->Publish from the FrontPage
menu, and specifying http://yourdomain.com as the destination
location. Using FTP will corrupt the FP extensions, which may need to
be re-installed.

The Microsoft article you refer to assumes that you have opened the
live website in FrontPage, not the local site on your PC.

Thank you, I will check out your suggestions. However, I cannot publish from
Front Page for some reason the publish site link is dim. How can I get around
this? I prefer to publish directly from the site, however have been unable to.
Thanks again,
Irma

If the Publish site is dim, you have not opened the web site.
Open FrontPage, then use File->Open Site and browse to your web site
on your PC, then click Open.
The Publish Site menu option will then be usable.

Irma

Thank you, I did as you requested and published directly from Front Page.
Now the error message is:
FrontPage Error.

User: please report details to this site's webmaster.

Webmaster: please see the server's system log for more details.
I will reinstall the extensions to see if this is the problem.
