Exact colour reproduction of a photoshop picture in picture manage

I edit many photographs in Photoshop and use office picture manager to
catelogue them and view. However the colours look different on the same
monitor. I have tried to obtain the same overall effect as in photoshop but
without succcess. This occurs even when I select enhance colour and pick a
true white from the picture. Some parts of the picture show a different
colour i.e a grey wall rather than a lovet green wall and the overall picture
is more cold and less alive. Different combinations of hue and saturation
cannot reproduce the same effect as shown in Photoshop. I am not sure if it
is me. Has anyone elese had the same problem? I know it should be possible
to obtain but cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Can anyone help since
if it is not possible I cannot continue to use Microsoft office picture
manager which would be a great shame.

Update! Microsoft office picture manager uses the colour setup 'Monitor RGB'
to view pictures whilst photoshop offers this plus 'CMYK RGB' and 'Windows
RGB" . Windows RGB is the most popular and makes the picture come alive
whilst Monitor RGB setting produces a dull and lifeless picture that is
suitable only for brousing and not showing your friends. This is a great
shame as other features are excellent and I hope Microsoft include Windows
RGB setting in the future?
