Example of a fixed work task

Does anyone have a good example for each kind of task: fixed duration, fixed
unit, fixed work? Especially interested in examples showing the difference
between fixed unit tasks and fixed work tasks.

Hi

in my book these don't directly relate to discrete tasks ... more a method
of how you want Project to react if you make a change ...
but here goes ....

fixed duration - a meeting ... doesn't matter how many people you throw at a
meeting it will always get longer rather than shorter ... seriously, a 1
hr meeting is a 1 hr meeting regardless of the number of people attending

fixed unit - default type ...

fixed work - if i know that it is going to take 10 man-hours and i want
project to tell me how many resources i need to complete the work in a given
duration i will use this task type.
