Excel 2000 DATA1.MSI

Hello, When I try to open the Excel program, it is looking for the DATA1.MSI
file. I have Office 2000 in French. A friend of mine sent me that file
because I don't have the Office 2000 CD with me but he has it. I tried to
browse and to choose that file but it still doesn't work. What do I have to
do?

use a CD. That's the only way around it AFAIK.
