Excel 2007 "run & exit" Problem caused by Btsendto_office.dll

Edouard

Most of the time when I Launch/Run or Exit Excel 2007 on my new Vista HP 9000
notebook I get the below error message and Excel either crashes or re-starts;
making it impossible to work under these conditions.

Has anyone have the same problem ? Is there a workaround ? Who should I
contact for support ? Microsoft ? HP ? Because according to Broadcom it is
not their problem.

Nick thanks for your answer,

For this " Btsendto_office.dll." problem who is then responsible to provide
a patch if it is not Microsoft who is the Vista/Office/Excel developer ? Is
it HP who is the manufacturer of the Pavilion dv9294ea notebook that I am
using ?

Below is the reply I received from Broadcom:

Thank you for your inquiry. Broadcom Corporation acquired WIDCOMM Inc.
software, which was licensed to various 3rd party companies who bundled our
software with their Bluetooth devices. Unfortunately, some of these companies
inadequately left Broadcom's support information in the software interface
instead of replacing it with their own support information.

Each of these companies customizes the software for their particular
Bluetooth device therefore our off-the-shelf standard version of the
software would not work with most 3rd company devices. Please contact the
manufacturer or distributor of your device to obtain software upgrades.

I repeat, it isn't MS. They have no responsibility for any application that
decides it wants to use XL as an interface, etc. It must be the
responsibility of the person trying to integrate. e.g if I wrote code, I
would be responsible for any issues, not Excel (MS)

Looking at the reply from Broadcom, I would look at whatever piece of
equipment is installing it, if that's HP then it's them
