Hi, I am using Entourage 2008. My operating system is a Mac OS X 10.5. I have received an excel attachment. When I tried to open it, a pop up box tells me, "The file may be read-only or you may be trying to access a read-only location. Or the server the document is stored on may not be responding."

Within the options tab of my accounts setting, the 'partially receive message over' is unchecked. Any help as to how I can open this excel attachment would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

What happens if you drag the attachment to the desktop, or any other
location in the Finder, and open it from there?

Hi Michael, thank you for your suggestion. I tried what you suggested and
this doesn't work either.

There might actually be a problem with the attachment itself. Have you tried
opening the Excel file on another Mac, or perhaps on another PC?

Thank you Michel. I did forward this attachment from my Mac to my PC and I was able to open the excel attachment from my PC.

Was perhaps "Partially receive ..." set at the time the message was
received, even though it's not checked now? If that's the case, try
selecting "Receive entire message" from the Message menu.
