I have a user ("A") that receives e-mails from a co-worker ("B") tha
have excel attachments for garment conversions to be made in ou
database. When attempting to open these excel files "A" receives th
following message:
CAN'T CREATE FILE: GRMNT_CONVERSION.XLS. RIGHT-CLICK THE FOLDER YO
WANT TO CREATE THE FILE IN, AND THEN CLICK PROPERTIES ON THE SHORTCU
MENU TO CHECK YOUR PERMISSIONS FOR THE FOLDER
Both "B" and "A" are on the same version of Excel (2000). Neither i
saving this file to a network drive. However, others who receive thes
same e-mails are able to open, view, save, print, and manipulate th
information in the attachments. User "A", can forward these sam
e-mails to others, and they can open the attachments. Anyone receivin
e-mails with these files can forward back to "A", and she is able t
then open them. "A" recieves other Excel files from "B" that she ca
open without any problems. I can open the same files from "A", "B", o
anyone else, and I am using an earlier version of Excel (97). "A" onl
needs to open and print the file, in order to report the necessar
information to our database. We have been working around this b
sending to a dummy e-mail account and having it auto-forward back t
"A". The decision has been made to eliminate the dummy account, so
need for "A" to be able to open these attachments without going throug
another account.
Please, I am desperate!!!!
