Excel does not appear in Files Of Type Box when Importing

I am using an Intel machine
OS is Windows 2000 Professional
Using Access 2002 in Office Xp professional.

I am attempting to import data in an Excel spreadsheet to
Access, but do not have the option of choosing Excel in
the drop down list titled "Files Of Type".

I have attempted to un-install and re-install Office XP
Professional without any success in solving this problem.

Any help is much appreciated.
