Excel Formula Help

[Read]

I am trying to copy a cell value in Column A to Column B. I want to stop the
copy at a blank row and start the formula over referencing the new dataset.
Example:
Column A Column B
bread bread
943234 bread
234112 bread

milk milk
232134 milk
123134 milk

This tinker seems to work ok
Source data as posted in A1 down
In B1: =A1
In C1: =IF(A2="","",IF(ISNUMBER(A2),C1,A2))
Copy C1 down

Errata, sorry:

In C1: =IF(A2="","",IF(ISNUMBER(A2),C1,A2))
Copy C1 down

Should be:
In B2: =IF(A2="","",IF(ISNUMBER(A2),B1,A2))
Copy B2 down
